3 students shot and in criticial condition after gunmen storm ESUT

Three students of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Agbani, are in critical condition at the the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) after being shot and wounded by suspected armed bandits who invaded their hostel, The Nation reports.

The affected students are currently undergoing intensive surgery at the hospital where they were rushed to in the early hours of Saturday. One of the students was shot in the stomach and it was suspected that some pellets of the bullet were lodged in his abdomen for which doctors are battling to remove.

The two other victims were also undergoing surgery at the hospital while efforts were being made to contact their parents.

The Unique Hostel where the incident occurred and other hostels within the Agbani Permanent site of the university, according to sources, have been placed under security watch as it was suspected that the gunmen could be members of a secret cult.

To forestall a reprisal attack, the source said, the management had taken measures to beef up security at the hostels with plain-clothe policemen deployed to strategic locations.

Police spokesman, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu,  who confirmed the armed attack said that preliminary investigations revealed that the gunmen could be “student robbers”,  assuring that the police would do everything possible to get to the root of the matter.

He could not say if any arrest had been made but he said that the command was already on top of the situation and would give further details after the ongoing investigations.

“From what we gathered when the gunmen attacked some students at the ESUT Unique Lodge, which is mainly Boys Hostel, there was a stiff resistance by the students who succeeded in arresting one of the gunmen.  The arrested gunman alerted his armed colleagues who returned to the hostel and began shooting indiscriminately during which three of the students were shot and wounded,” the police spokesman said.

Panic in Liberian villages as two Ebola victims 'rise from the dead'

There's currently panic, fear and confusion in two villages in Nimba County in Liberia after reports that two female Ebola victims have risen from the dead.

According to local reports, 44 year old Dorris Quoi who lived in Hope Village Community and a 67 year old woman identified as Ma Kebeh, died of the Ebola virus and were about to be taken for burial when they resurrected and are now walking among the living.

According to reports in a local newspaper, New Dawn, Ma Kebeh had been indoors for two nights without food and medication before her death, while Dorris had suffered for several weeks before she died alone in her family home. This is the first report of dead Ebola victims resurrecting. Despite some people's reservations about the story being true, it hasn't stopped them from panicking

Terrorism: The Evil and the Government

Terrorism: The Evil and the Government

Terrorism: The Evil and the Government

When we talk they say we only sit in the comfort of our homes to make armchair analysis and so should not be taken seriously. And when we don't talk, they say we are sympathisers. Nevertheless, we shall continue to air our views no matter whose OX is gored!
I see myself as a human first before any religion - I will approach this as a humanist and so will not fetch my waters from the Well of religion or make references to the scriptures.

Boko Haram by their declarations and actions are far from what they proclaim. Their actions and various atrocities against humanity exposes their convoluted and twisted religious ideologies. Is it not in the common sense of faith that GOD is faultless and unimaginable? If so, then it is only HYPOCRISY and sheer stupidity to believe you can and will fight for God.
It is written, even if it wasn't written, don't you think if God wills, he could and would make everyone be of the same religion, language and colour? Think about this and let go of the sick ideology. Times are closing hard on these monsters and soon they shall be defeated. Our lands will be cleansed of all this madness but before then we need to seek the face of truth.
Boko Haram like other world renowned terrorists are humans. Just like you and I, they have families, they are children of parents, fathers of kids, and brothers to sisters.
So what must have been the cause? What was that boiling point? Is it the pain or is it agony? What is that thing which drives and transforms these humans into lethal beasts cum monsters.
These are the questions we must answer if we must defeat insurgency and terrorism.

Firstly, I have to register my disappointment in most of us who only understand and see GOD through the eyes of our religious leaders, we fail to establish a much needed personal relationship with God. And so these rabble rousers clothed as religious leader seize the opportunity to incite and radicalize the 'faithfools' into potential kill squads.
I m also disappointed by the level of parental degeneration in some parts of the north where
derelict parents indirectly set the 'ticks' to this time bomb by letting our children run the streets uncatered all in the name of "Al-majiri",which leaves them not only exposed to crude hardknock life at a tender age but also to the much heightened street violence. And all these may only help prepare their minds towards the evil to come.

-And then Our Governments with their Double Standard Hypocrisy...

Crushing boko haram today will not put an end to terrorism, defeating ISIS today will not put an end to ISIL or DAIISH let alone terrorism. Time was when media reportages were all about the klux klan, al'qeada, Hisboolah, the LRA, al'shabab, the Virginia Tech student who killed 32 schoolmates...even when Breivik was jailed, it didn't serve justice to the soul of the innocent kids he gunned down in Utoya island. And it also didn't stop or deter the Washington navy yard shooter.
In as much as governments (in all insincerity and selective governance) leave behind an enabling environment, the fight to defeating terrorism and global violence will always be a mirage.
The other time I watched on TV the strafe bombardments of Gaza by Israeli forces in an attempt to suppress Hamas. And to the much destruction of innocent lives and properties in Gaza were met by happy cheers and joyous celebration at the other end in Israel. Now tell me what happens, what brews and what boils in the minds of those kids and young men who were been forced to watch their parents, loved ones, torn apart and shredded into pieces from hot missiles and rockets ravaging their homes, schools hospitals and sacred praying grounds.
These group of people will definitely fall into the willing tools.
Remember, most of these men who now kill under the banner of ISIS were young men who witnessed the invasion in Iraq and Afghanistan, some who watched their loved ones massacred by foreign soldiers from strange land for a reason not 'just' enough to kill a pig.

This is the bitter part - you breed a monster and they turn-back to haunt you.
Its no longer news that 'A piece of ISIL was heavily armed and supported by US and Saudis as freedom fighters in Syria' just as the plentiful arms loaded to the rebels of Libya found ways into the waiting hands of al'shabab and boko haram.
Al-qaeda in its infanthood started as a US project during the anti-soviet cold war as it was armed and funded by the US and Saudis to wage resistant against the Russian occupation of Afghanistan.
It was also reported that Bin Laden had an exclusive CIA training under the code name Tim Osman.
Infact, "Bin Laden, was, though, a product of monumental miscalculation by western security agencies" Robin Cook(UK F-Sec, 97-01).
"US still kept intimate relationship with Bin Laden and the Taliban even after the cold war till the red day sept 11".

Abeg also note that the late Godane and other fighters who fought alongside Bin Laden in Afghanistan are listed in the command chain of Al'Shabab. And just like the ties between Al'qaeda and US, HAMAS was also spawned by Israel.
Israel first thought Hamas (which was legally registered in Israel in 1978 by the name Al-Mujamma al Islami)would be useful in dividing and counterbalancing a 'perceived' much stronger secular PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization) which were oppositions to the Israeli government of the day. Isreal was said to have funded the group, Hamas, a sample case of paying the piper and not being able to dictate the tune.
Like they say "no insurgency last for this long without the government's complicity".
Boko Haram (in their originality)was less of a violent movement before they were armed as thugs to influence election results. And they became very deadly and morphed into human bombs after the extra-judicial killing of their founder Moh'd Yusuf in 2009. As we have it here in our jungle of a country, instead of the government to device a best means to handle the wild fire, we stood in regions, under the umbrella of religions and bloody politics, we fanned and allow it grow into an inferno, pointing fingers of blame to one direction or the other.
Sometimes in july this year, sons of a very influential leader, sheik El-Zakyzaky, were killed extra-judicially in custody alongside 31 other members of his sect and our government only thought of sending apologies through the phone...hmmm well I won't go further.
Then we have the civilian-JTFs who have been exposed to brutal killings, conventional and guerilla warfare being the go-betweens in the regular exchange between the National forces and the radical insurgents.

Breaking: Amber Rose files for divorce from Wiz Khalifa

TMZ just broke the news. After one year of marital bliss, Amber Rose just filed for divorce from rapper Wiz Khalifa. Wasn't it recently she shared wedding photos and gushed about him? Find the report from TMZ below...

Amber Rose has filed for divorce from husband-of-1-year Wiz Khalifa ... and she's gunning for full custody of their kid.
In the divorce docs -- obtained by TMZ -- Amber says they split on Monday and cites irreconcilable differences.
Amber is asking for full legal and physical custody of their 1-year-old son Sebastian. She's willing to give Wiz visitation.

And this is interesting. Amber acknowledges there's a prenup, which you would think would work in Wiz' favor, but she says it's valid ... presumably, she's not challenging it. The docs say the prenup provides spousal support.

As for why they split, there's been a buzz over the last few days of infidelity, but there's no mention of it in the papers.

We got video of Amber with some guy Tuesday in Bev Hills. Our photog asks her if Wiz is keeping a close eye on Nick Cannon -- there are rumors they've hooked up, but she's mum.
